After all the dreaming, planning, drawing and discussing, it was quite exciting to get the first glimpse of our boat at it was sitting there by the canal on an overcast day in early December. True, it was covered in polythene and we couldn't go inside, but at last the very beginnings of NB Zindagi could be seen! We had long and very useful discussions with Dave there at Classic Narrowboats, made a few important decisions, and handed over the first of several large cheques!

Just a Shell in the Boatyard!
The engine was already being fitted and we had picked up the diesel-fired oven and hob on our way up to Wheelton. Since then, Dave H. and his team have started on the fitting out and (once they have returned from the holiday break) will be continuing – there is a lot to be done, fitting all our requirements into 57 feet long by 6ft 10in wide!
Estimated completion date is now 'the end of February', so we hope that it does not get any later, and that we shall be able to get under way on our travels very soon after that.
